Bristol, CT

About This Project

This Bristol kitchen came out down to the walls: every cabinet, the old counters, the backsplash, and the worn tile floor. Starting that clean let us fix the layout instead of repeating it, so the refrigerator moved to its own wall and the working side of the kitchen opened up around the new range and a proper run of counter space.

The rebuild went two-tone: white shaker uppers under crown molding to keep the room bright, charcoal bases to ground it, and black-and-brass hardware tying the two together. Veined quartz counters run the whole room and extend into an overhang with seating by the window, backed by a deep blue-gray glass subway backsplash. A new dishwasher went in beside the sink, a brass faucet and pendant light dress up the window wall, and new wood-look plank flooring and fresh paint finish the room corner to corner.

It is a complete kitchen replacement inside the original footprint, with the layout finally working the way the room always should have.
